About Us
Three decades of embroidery, made bespoke — one bride at a time.
BespokeByShagun
True luxury is crafted,
not created overnight.
BespokeByShagun, headed by designer Shagun Pathak, is a celebration of three decades of artistry, experience, and an enduring love for Indian couture. With an exceptional command over diverse embroidery techniques — from the timeless richness of zardozi and kasab to the delicate finesse of ek-taar resham and mukaish; from luminous crystals and hand-set kundans to intricate 3D textures and refined flat embroideries — the brand brings together old-world craftsmanship and contemporary elegance.

The Founder
Shagun Pathak
Shagun Pathak has spent three decades turning embroidery into a language of her own — shaped by a Master's in Textiles and Clothing, Head Designer roles at Creative Collections and Ravissant, time at Bandhej, and years teaching Surface Ornamentation as a Guest Professor at NIFT Gandhinagar.
Her vision has never wavered: that embroidery deserves to be treated as art in its own right, not an afterthought stitched onto a finished garment. Every collection is guided by that conviction — technique first, craftsmanship without compromise, and deep respect for the karigars who bring each vision to life.
The Philosophy
Embroidery, Unbound
For Shagun Pathak, embroidery has never been a
finishing touch — it's the starting point.
It doesn't need to restrict itself to a hemline or a dupatta border. It belongs on couture and pret, on furniture and furnishings, on bags and shoes, and framed on a wall as art in its own right — no limits to creativity, no limits to innovation.
We embrace Indian maximalism over mass-produced fashion — leaning into rich, archival heritage details. Motifs like the peacock, the lotus, and the rose aren't just decorative; woven by hand, they become a form of cultural documentation, carrying tradition forward one stitch at a time.

The Legacy
Since 1999
The story began in 1999, the year Shagun's fascination with embroidery — first discovered in school, watching a garment grow from a sketch into a fully realised piece — took its first professional step. What followed were three decades shaping a design language from every angle, from Delhi to Ahmedabad, and finally to Kolkata, where the brand's atelier stands today.
The Karigars
Behind Every Thread
No creation at BespokeByShagun is the work of one pair of hands. Behind every panel is a team of karigars — embroiderers, tailors, and finishers, many of whom Shagun has worked alongside since her years at Bandhej and NIFT Gandhinagar.
It's slow, deliberate work, passed from hand to hand before a single ensemble is called finished. That patience is what separates embroidery-as-decoration from embroidery-as-art.

The Atelier
Where every stitch lives
Every BespokeByShagun creation is designed and handcrafted at our atelier in Nawabgunj, West Bengal — where the karigars, the embroidery frames, and three decades of technique all live under one roof.
Selected pieces are also available to view at Ole Couture, New Delhi, in both Mehrauli and Shahpur Jat — for brides who'd like to experience the craftsmanship in person before their consultation.
Book an Appointment →The BespokeByShagun Woman
“She doesn't dress to fit an occasion. She dresses in a way that lets the occasion meet her, exactly as she is.
Fearless and independent, yet grounded and traditional — a woman entirely her own signature, who still places her family above everything else. This is who BespokeByShagun is designed for.
