After the Wedding
Caring For Your Ensemble
Hand embroidery, kundan, zardozi, and fine silks deserve a little extra care to stay beautiful for years to come.
Storage
- Store in a breathable muslin or cotton cloth bag — avoid plastic covers, which trap moisture and can damage embroidery and metal work over time.
- Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent fading of silk and colour-treated fabrics.
- Fold gently along embroidery lines where possible, avoiding sharp creases directly over heavy embellishment.
Cleaning
- Do not machine wash or dry clean at a regular laundromat. Always take heavily embroidered or embellished pieces to a specialist dry cleaner experienced with zardozi, kundan, and delicate silks.
- Spot-clean minor stains immediately with a soft, dry cloth — avoid rubbing, which can loosen embroidery threads.
Handling
- Avoid spraying perfume or deodorant directly onto the fabric, as this can discolor silk and tarnish metallic embellishments.
- Handle kundan and pearl work gently — avoid pulling or snagging on jewellery, bags, or footwear during wear.
Long-Term Preservation
- For heirloom pieces you intend to keep for years (bridal lehengas, Exclusive Panels), we recommend professional textile preservation and storage services every few years.
- For any repairs, restoration, or re-embroidery work, reach out to us directly — our karigars can often restore pieces that were originally handcrafted at our atelier.
